If you have a large crawl space or basement, sealing the area with an air-to-air heat exchanger is a better solution. This type of mitigation system is also known as an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV).

The EPA has set a safe radon level for homes and has recommended that homeowners remediate any homes with high levels of radon. This level is four picocuries per liter, and some homeowners choose to start mitigation when the radon level is below this level.
